Moving on
I have made a tentative start in a new sketchbook, silver birch trees with there bright yellow ochre leaves set against a backdrop of blue and grey skies are the inspiration.

Changing Times.
I must confess that not much painting has been done recently, only three more night paintings and each of them quite different.
I have also done a little bit of painting in my larger sketchbook and have photographed sections of this larger work, all of them are potential paintings.
Times are changing however, and from next week I will probably have less time to paint, my daughter is going back to work, and I will be looking after my Granddaughter three days a week. I am really looking forward to it and am ready for the challenges ahead.
Recently I have been attending a painting and drawing class just to brush up on my skills, I have found it really useful going over things that I had forgotten, it has also helped me to really look at what I am painting and to really see where my inspiration is coming from. I don't want to loose momentum so have decided to do an e course, Bloom True with Flora Bowley which starts next week, I am really excited because hopefully I will get to do some bigger paintings, my three large canvasses are ready and waiting. Not sure how much time I will have for blogging, but hopefully I will be able to do some quick visual posts.

Night Paintings
Partly inspired by Roger Hilton and his Night Letters, I have started a new sketchbook of night paintings as a way of getting some of the thoughts that go through my head late at night, down on paper. I have set up my watercolours and sketchbook next to my bed and doing small paintings before I go to sleep. At the moment they seem to be just abstract meanderings because I don't want to over think things, here are paintings 1 to 7.

Table of Thoughts
Not a very productive week this week, for some reason I couldn't concentrate. I had planned on doing some outdoor photography with my new camera but it has rained constantly since Wednesday, and unfortunately I was busy on the lovely frosty mornings at the beginning of the week. Here are some photographs of work in progress and my table of thoughts.

Sketchbook
I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday break, and looking forward to a full creative New Year. Thanks to everyone who has supported me this year, it is great to get comments and they have really helped a lot.
Not much to post about, however I did manage to do a little sketchbook work before the break.

Sketchbook and other bits and pieces.
I am not having a very productive week this week, far to many distractions and I just cannot concentrate. Painting number 3 is on hold at the moment so I decided to have some fun painting more stones, some wood and a little bit of sketchbook work.
