Surprise in the Post

Last week I received a little surprise in the post from the Beside The Wave Gallery in Cornwall, it was a catalogue of their most recent exhibition by Emma Dunbar "down at the allotments". I must be on their mailing list, and I had no idea this exhibition was on, it finishes on the 29th August so not much time left to see it.

Not great images it's quite hard to photograph a catalogue and keep the colours looking correct. There is also a fun competition to enter on the gallery website or at the gallery itself to win a framed print.

New Exhibition: Drawn to the Landscape

The Jerram Gallery in Sherbourne Dorset are showing new work by Emma Dunbar, Fiona Millais and an artist who is new to me Carry Akroyd. The exhibition is called Drawn to the Landscape and is on until the 7th March.

Feeling Floral

I am feeling in a floral still life kind of mood today, I think it's something to do with the weather the sun is shining and the sky is blue but it doesn't really have the intensity of Summer it has a slightly faded feel to it.

Elaine Pamphilon one of my absolute favourites she always captures the perfect mood.

Mhairi McGregor's beautiful thickly painted oils are bold yet still sensitive to the subject matter.

Christine McArthur's mixed media collages have a quiet and soft appearance.

Alice Mumford paints these lovely romantic paintings of ordinary objects from around the home.

Jessica Cooper simple but elegant acrylics and pencil on canvas.

I couldn't leave out a lovely painting by Emma Dunbar, I love anemones and the colour combination is a favourite of mine.

Beside the wave Gallery in Cornwall are holding an exhibition of Emma Dunbar's latest work from 22nd July to 3rd August. My favourites of hers are always the floral's, they are so colourful and freely painted, just lovely. Here are some of my favourites.
