I felt like a change from painting today so decided to do some quite large pastel drawings. The paper measures 57cm x 77cm, quite large for me. I managed to do three but have only photographed two of them, it was getting dark by the time I finished the third. I really enjoyed doing them it was quite exciting just to let go and have fun.

This is something different! I love the first one - I can see definite roses and I like that it is quite empty. Are you planning to do some more work on it?
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristina, Yes I have another one done and more to come. It's exciting to do something different :)
ReplyDeleteLovely stuff! I can see the top one translating into something stitched too. Love the colours.
ReplyDeleteThanks Claire, yes I was enjoying those colours too, pastels are so lovely to use. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Sandra, you have done it again. I just flicked over to your site and my heart skipped a few beats when I saw these pastels. I LOVE them. I adore the one that looks a like tangled honesty with ultra marine blue sky peeping through. So confident & strong. The roses are stunning too, so utterly modern and fresh but also so traditional which is very very clever. Adore, adore. WHEN are you getting an etsy shop???
ReplyDeleteThanks Niki for your really encouraging words. The etsy shop is on hold at the moment as there might be a possibility that I can at last exhibit some work in a gallery. I have been really busy finishing off some paintings for my application and am just waiting to here from them. I am not abandoning the etsy shop idea it's just a time factor.
DeleteYes, I can imagine your time is very tight with all the things you do. That's great that you may have an exhibition, I really look forward to hearing more about that. You have really inspired me actually as I've been a bit slugglish lately and today I feel really fired up and Ive had some ideas I want to try out on hemp.
DeleteSee you, Niki
