Thinking about stitch

I have been thinking about stitch recently (before I started painting I was an embroiderer). I have always wanted to bring stitch and paint together but have never quite got around to it. Here are some artists that I am finding inspiring at the moment.

Emily Barletta

Matthew Harris

Roanna Wells

  3. These are very interesting - it shows, how it seems incompatible things, can be turned into something that looks good. I'll look forward to seeing some of your artwork - I asume you are going to have a go at something similar?

  6. Thanks for the link Anna, I have not seen the work of Mary Fogg before, I love all those stripes. My dissertation was on the marginalisation of embroidery and the art/craft debate that was going on at the time.
