In the Studio

Paintings are building up in the studio, getting a little bit excited and a little bit worried!!

A closer look at one of the small paintings, they are 30cm x 30cm. Have a great weekend everyone and hope it's sunny where you are.

    1. I have been using my photos a lot more recently to paint from, normally I just do it completely from memory this is probably why they are a little less abstract, although the landscape looking ones were painted from words that I wrote down on a train journey they have the curious title of The 9.15 from Manchester Piccadilly sounds a bit like a murder mystery!!

    1. The exhibition is titled the colour of ideas, we thought it would be a good introduction for me and also without this blog I would probably have not got this far, so I felt that colour needed to be the main focus for the paintings. Thanks for commenting Sue :)

  7. Oh gosh, Sandra, I am so excited for you and I absolutely LOVE the look of what you are up to. The application of colour is divine! I couldn't even say which is my fav so far but Im loving the look of all that moody sky in the one peeking out on back right. I see Sale has a metro link from Manchester Piccadilly so I am right on the case, mmm, I wonder if I could combine it with a uni open day as eldest son is at the stage of looking at unis & courses. Be in touch :)

    1. Thanks Niki, yes Sale is very well connected it takes about 12 minutes to get into Manchester city centre on the metro and they run about every 6 minutes. I assume Manchester University must have an open day at some point, it would be really exciting if you came :)x

  8. I love impressionism and expressionism. Your work is very reminiscent of both. Love it. Hope they sell like hotcakes! (that's good, btw) heheh
