Where are you exhibiting?
Hi Linda, my exhibition is on at the Sale Waterside Arts Centre, it starts on the 21st of September and finishes on the 16th of November. Just starting to panic a little I think I need to paint faster!!
I especially love the large painting with the blue flowers shining out of the dark background.
That's my favourite one too Patricia, this is why I am loving green!
Hi Sandra - I see such good sunshine in these paintings. The close up reminds me of some of your photos from your past post.-sus
I have been using my photos a lot more recently to paint from, normally I just do it completely from memory this is probably why they are a little less abstract, although the landscape looking ones were painted from words that I wrote down on a train journey they have the curious title of The 9.15 from Manchester Piccadilly sounds a bit like a murder mystery!!
Looking good - I'm excited for you :)
Thanks Claire, feeling more scared today, I am just worried I wont get it all done in time.
Sandra...These are so NICE! I love the colors especially in the 1st one!
The exhibition is titled the colour of ideas, we thought it would be a good introduction for me and also without this blog I would probably have not got this far, so I felt that colour needed to be the main focus for the paintings. Thanks for commenting Sue :)
Lovely - particularly love the large painting in green and blue - it seems to sing with life and vitality
Thanks Hannah, I am really encouraged by the response to that particular painting :)
Oh gosh, Sandra, I am so excited for you and I absolutely LOVE the look of what you are up to. The application of colour is divine! I couldn't even say which is my fav so far but Im loving the look of all that moody sky in the one peeking out on back right. I see Sale has a metro link from Manchester Piccadilly so I am right on the case, mmm, I wonder if I could combine it with a uni open day as eldest son is at the stage of looking at unis & courses. Be in touch :)
Thanks Niki, yes Sale is very well connected it takes about 12 minutes to get into Manchester city centre on the metro and they run about every 6 minutes. I assume Manchester University must have an open day at some point, it would be really exciting if you came :)x
I love impressionism and expressionism. Your work is very reminiscent of both. Love it. Hope they sell like hotcakes! (that's good, btw) heheh
Me too!! Thanks for your comment :)
