  1. I love your paintings, Sandra. You have caught the essence of the last gasp of winter, -sus

  2. Gosh, there is something so dramatic about this, quite macabre really (sorry if its not meant to be!). I see it as a huge back drop to a Matthew Bourne ballet or perhaps the Stravinsky Rite of Spring.

    1. I am trying Niki to let the paintings just happen, like a conversation between myself and the canvas, and the viewer having there own individual interpretation. My husband said it reminded him of the cigarette advert were the cigarette starts to develop a tumour!!

  3. oh my goodness...only a hubby could get away with saying that!!!
You are so right, isnt it great that everyone can make their own interpretation, I love that. Your work really seems to get me thinking, that's what I like so much about it.

  4. Thanks Niki, my husband prefers figurative work he likes to know what he is looking at and doesn't seem to understand abstract work. We went to the Cy Twombly exhibition together (Cycles and Seasons at the Tate) and he thought that most of it was awful, apart from the green set of paintings which interestingly, are my least favourite!!
