Unfinished Paintings

I have quite a few unfinished paintings that are balancing on a precipice, this is were I start to struggle, somehow they get lost by overworking or by not being brave enough. I wanted to post a couple of these paintings so that I could perhaps look at them in a different way. The first painting is small 30cm x 30cm, the second is larger 60cm x 60cm both acrylics the small one on board and the larger one on canvas.

Abstracting the Abstract

Here are some photographs taken today of a new work in progress. Using the night paintings as inspiration I am hoping to make some much larger paintings, but not sure if it's going to work yet. As usual I always get distracted by other thoughts and felt like I wanted to add some collage to the piece but not sure about that either so a bit of an indecisive day. I have taken quite a few photographs from different angles and I really like the abstract nature of them.

New Exhibition: Drawn to the Landscape

The Jerram Gallery in Sherbourne Dorset are showing new work by Emma Dunbar, Fiona Millais and an artist who is new to me Carry Akroyd. The exhibition is called Drawn to the Landscape and is on until the 7th March.
